RICS Italia Conference: Corporate protection as an asset

At the RICS Italia Conference, we explored the theme of Corporate Protection as an Asset in the panel dedicated to 'Strategies and Best Practices for the Management and Enhancement of Infrastructure Assets.'

Nunzio Di Somma highlighted the indispensable need for a corporate protection strategy to ensure the resilience and sustainability of strategic infrastructures.

The session, moderated by Francesca Zirnstein MRICS, a member of the RICS council in Italy, also saw the participation of Francesco Mascolo, CEO of MM Spa, and Marco Piuri, General Manager of FNM S.p.A.

The speakers emphasized the importance of considering infrastructure real estate not only as a source of income but also as an expression of public service, essential for communicating operational efficiency and commitment to quality. They also discussed how the development of new infrastructure must integrate risk factors related to extreme weather events and environmental challenges, within the context of adopting risk management strategies that consider both the physical integrity of assets and regulatory compliance, as well as corporate security.

This dialogue represented an important opportunity to share strategies and best practices related to risk mitigation, emphasizing the importance of ESG criteria in ensuring effective protection of corporate assets in a landscape of uncertainties.
