"The travel and hospitality industry, hard hit by travel restrictions imposed to counter the spread of Covid-19, has been able to use this halt to rethink the philosophy of hospitality, increasing personalization around the traveler's new needs. 
 
As highlighted by the report "The 2022 Traveler: Emerging Trends and the Redefined Traveler" compiled by the study office of the Hilton Hotel, the pandemic has changed the travel experience, leading tour operators to increase flexibility in reservations and free cancellations and greater attention to hygiene and sanitation aspects implemented including through the use of contactless devices.
 
According to the Osservatori Digital Innovation by Politecnico di Milano, these trends are compounded by vacation working, that is, the seasonal adjustment of tourism activated by the spread of smart working on "vacation" which has increased the need to disconnect from the daily grind of home.
 
The changes taking place are altering the geography of tourism supply, leading to an increase in the attractiveness of resorts and serviced apartments at the expense of airport hotels and hostels."
