Il Sole 24 Ore: Yes to 100% green buildings but we need more assurance and certainty law environment

Interview with CEO Piercarlo Rolando

"100% green buildings thanks to new projects, but more regulatory certainty is needed featured in Il Sole 24 Ore and Il Giornale del Piemonte e della Liguria, the words of CEO Piercarlo Rolando

We need clear, certain rules defined by a regulatory framework that must not change over time, Piercarlo Rolando stressed during the Il Sole 24 Ore event, interviewed by Celestina Dominelli.

The company's idea, however, goes further, ready for the next step. That of arriving also thanks to a public/private partnership, the use of public funds such as those of the PNRR and private investments to 100% green, zero-emission buildings.

We also talk about public housing, which is a very important sector, an underestimated cluster. Because it's also about challenging energy poverty. Suffice it to say that 11 percent of the Italian population lives in energy poverty, that is, they do not have the economic strength to guarantee themselves warmth in winter or coolness in summer.

For this reason, one of our projects is specifically concerned not only with the renovation of exteriors, the so-called overcoating of buildings that can bring an improvement of two energy classes, but also with the replacement of thermal power plants, to switch from fossil fuel to renewable sources.

And in this sense great attention is being focused on what are the energy communities that are emerging, areas that include civilian homes, public buildings and companies, which network to aim for energy self-sufficiency through direct production. For example, this involves setting up production facilities with renewable sources, particularly photovoltaics, by installing panels on the surface of shopping malls, swimming pools, large public or private buildings and thus making all the properties in that community self-sufficient, 100 percent green.

The goal of complete decarbonization set by the EU targets 2050, but many results can already be achieved earlier. "
