What changes are needed for the effective implementation of ESG criteria?

Discusses this at IlQI's ESG Conference, Nunzio Di Somma, Senior Director of Technical Excellence & Innovation at RINA Prime Value Services interviewed by Guglielmo Pelliccioli

According to the recent survey A New Investor Consensus: The Rising Demand for Healthy Buildings, 2021 by the United Nations Environment Programme Finance Initiative (UNEP FI), more than 90 percent of investors say they are promoting green building initiatives in response to Tenant's growing demand for sustainable buildings.

In the context of the ESG transition, customer-centricity is the focus of a paradigm that sees on the one hand the goal of maximum tenant satisfaction (achievable through attention to sustainability issues but also continuous improvement of the services offered), and on the other hand the Tenant's active collaboration to achieve shared goals in synergy with the Property (e.g., within Green Lease contracts).

Such collaboration implies transparency in the Tenant's reporting of consumption and/or plant consistency data, often necessary to consolidate the Property's ESG strategy but not always readily available.

This is why more and more Property companies are taking steps to integrate tools and methodologies for retrieving data and information to support the Property into their service offerings.
