The energy transition requires increasingly flexible and resilient infrastructure capable of supporting the integration of renewable energy sources and the evolution of power systems towards more sustainable models.

In this context, large-scale energy storage systems play a central role in strengthening grid stability, improving energy management and enhancing security of supply.

RINA Prime, together with PDC Construction Management Sp.K., has been appointed Contract Engineer for a major BESS project in Poland: a 50 MW and 120 MWh energy storage system connected to the high-voltage grid, expected to become operational in 2027.

The project, developed by OX2 in Osiek Jasielski, in the Podkarpackie Voivodeship, represents the first energy storage system developed by OX2 in Poland and has secured a 17-year contract under the 2027 Capacity Market.

RINA Prime’s involvement confirms the value of a multidisciplinary approach to technical management, engineering coordination and compliance oversight for complex energy infrastructure.

Large-scale energy storage is a key component of the energy transition. Contributing to this path means supporting the development of more efficient, secure and resilient systems.
