The report on European real estate properties reveals a growing interest in ESG. The latest data on Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) factors from GRESB shows increased engagement from property owners and investors across Europe.
Italy is positioned as one of the fastest-growing markets for ESG adoption, experiencing a 15% increase involving 83 entities in 2022.
While the Italian ESG market may be less mature compared to others in Europe, government incentives, particularly in promoting energy efficiency in the real estate sector, have played a significant role. GRESB data also indicates that Italy, in addition to being the second-fastest-growing market in Europe last year, was the fastest-growing market globally in 2021.
